nircom Ask a scoping questionAsk us

From the question to the running system.

Nircom Technologies designs, builds and runs cloud platforms, AI agents, bespoke software and networks. Every engagement starts with a scoped question and ends with a system that is running and written down.

Our five practices

Each practice is scoped, built and handed over the same way. Most engagements touch more than one.

  1. Cloud and Azure platform

Platforms your teams can build on: landing zones, subscription and network design, identity, policy and logging, all defined as code. We also work on hybrid estates, including Azure Local in your own data centre.

    • Landing zones and platform engineering
    • Migration and modernisation
    • Operations and managed services
  2. AI and agents

AI that does a defined job inside your business: answering from your documents, reading and classifying paperwork, or acting through your systems, measured against tests you agree.

    • Use-case selection and AI strategy
    • Answers grounded in your documents
    • Agents and document intelligence
  3. Bespoke software

Custom software for how your business works: APIs and services in .NET, web front ends in Angular or React, and integration between systems that need to share data.

    • .NET APIs and services
    • Angular and React applications
    • Systems integration
  4. Network and DNS operations

Secure connections between your sites, including the links that bring AI to them. Branch offices often have internet addresses that change. Dynamic DNS gives each one a stable name, so the encrypted tunnels between sites keep finding each other and connect every branch to your data centre or to hosted AI models.

    • Dynamic DNS for branch and edge sites
    • IPsec site-to-site tunnels
    • Private links to hosted AI models
    • Firewalls, monitoring and runbooks
  5. Independent system design review

An outside read of an architecture before you commit to it, or of a system that isn't behaving. You get written findings ranked by risk, and what we'd do about each.

    • Architecture and security review
    • Cost and resilience review
    • Findings report and walkthrough

How we work

Every engagement goes through the same four stages. Each stage ends with something you keep, so you can stop after any of them.

  1. 01

    Ask

A conversation about what you're trying to do, what's in the way and what done looks like.

You keepA short note of the problem as we understood it.

  2. 02

    Scope

We write down the outcome, the deliverables, how each one is accepted, and the timeline, before any build starts.

You keepA fixed, written scope you can take anywhere.

  3. 03

    Build

Built in your environment, as code, in increments you can see and test as they land.

You keepWorking software or infrastructure, in your repositories.

  4. 04

    Run

Handed over running, with runbooks and architecture notes. Stay on a retainer if you want us to keep it running.

You keepA running system and the documents to operate it.

What you keep

The documents are part of the work. These are shortened examples of three of them, for a fictional client.

Scope: Branch connectivity

Example

Outcome

Every branch reaches the head-office data centre and the hosted AI service over encrypted tunnels that reconnect on their own when a branch's internet address changes.

Deliverables

  • Network design and addressing plan
  • Firewall and tunnel configuration as code
  • Runbook and handover session

Accepted when

A tunnel re-establishes within five minutes of an address change, shown on three sites.

Timeline

Weeks 1 to 4, with a review at the end of each week.

Design review: Findings

Example
FindingRisk
The database runs in one region and failover has never been tested.Critical
Administrator accounts are shared and not protected by multi-factor sign-in.High
Logs are kept for 7 days, shorter than the audit requirement.Medium

Recommendation for finding 1

Add a replica in a second region and run a timed failover test before go-live.

Runbook: Contents

Example
  1. Architecture overview
  2. Access and secrets
  3. Daily and weekly checks
  4. Restoring from backup
  5. Rotating certificates
  6. When an alert fires
  7. Who to call

Last tested

Restore procedure, timed and signed off at handover.

Your documents are written for your environment and stay with you, whoever runs the system next.

Packages and retainers

Fixed-scope packages cover the most common first steps. We scope each one to your environment before it starts and price it once you agree the scope.

Architecture Review

For a design you're about to commit to, or a system that isn't behaving.

You get
A findings report ranked by risk, recommendations for each finding, and a walkthrough with your team.

Azure Landing Zone

For teams moving to Azure, or tidying a subscription estate that grew without a plan.

You get
Subscription, network, identity, policy and logging foundations as code, plus the design notes behind them.

AI Pilot

For one use case you want to prove before you invest further.

You get
A working pilot grounded on your own content, tested against agreed questions, and a written go or no-go recommendation.

Integration Sprint

For two systems that need to share data reliably.

You get
A documented API or data pipeline between them, with error handling, logging and a handover session.

Retainers for ongoing work

Platform engineering, operations and advisory on a monthly retainer, scoped the same way: what's covered, how requests are handled, and what you receive each month.
